Peru is home to the oldest traces of cocoa, consumed as a beverage 5,000 years ago. Long forgotten, Gran Nativo Blanco isan endemic variety from Morropón. Its name derives from its high proportion of white beans, the rarest and most delicate. The Norandinoa cooperative helpsproducers select the best cocoa trees, grown in agroforestry alongside mango and lemon trees. This award-winning bean is one of Peru's most complex.
